7 Big Mistakes New Affiliate Marketers Make

When I initially began in offshoot promoting, all I needed was to simply profit. Off I ran in each heading, attempting everything, with no genuine thought of the slip-ups I was making that could great influence my chances at enduring victory.

Through my years of experience with both member advertising and educating other associate advertisers, I have arrived at the conclusion that there are 7 enormous botches new subsidiary advertisers make.

How about we discuss these oversights in additional part.

1) Selling Rather Than Helping

Yes, the saying "advertising" is part of the expression subsidiary promoting, yet generally, our occupation as an associate is not to offer — that is the employment of the bargains page our offshoot joins lead the spectator to.

When I initially began, my moving (and completely guileless) motivation was to fill my pages with expressions and joins that shouted "BUY THIS NOW!". I didn't help the spectator study why they may as well have this item. I just needed them to click a connection which would confidently accelerate a requisition for me.

Individuals need to get notification from other individuals when settling on a choice to purchase an item or not — that is the reason the surveys on Amazon items are so influential. Those surveys are real input from individuals who (ordinarily) have literally nothing to addition in the event that somebody purchases that item or not.

When we talk more as an unprejudiced analyst instead of a high-force salesperson, we will find we make more deals and individuals will return for consultation on different items sometime later.

2) Too Many!

This is an alternate huge botch I made when beginning — joining any and each associate program I ran into. While I completely do trust in developing different streams of pay when working on the web, there is a focus where you have a lot to manage and it gets unmanageable.

Pick your partner systems shrewdly and don't over-burden yourself.

3) Not Testing

At whatever point I decide to advertise a Clickbank offer for instance), I put myself in the shoes of a potential client and select into test the merchants' catch up grouping.

I studied this the hard way.

Nothing breaks a viewer's trust more than being expedited an advancement that will explode their inbox. Place yourself in the shoes of a potential client and see what will happen assuming that they take after your counsel.

4) Not Tracking

This was a BIG tangle I made when I initially began. I started my partner advertising profession utilizing allowed to-make website pages on a webpage called Squidoo (and I still do this right up 'til the present time).

I am attached to pushing Amazon items on these pages, however might neglect to utilize interesting following subsidiary interfaces on every page.

Why is this an oversight? Exceptionally straightforward — when you make a bargain, you need to know WHERE the deal hailed from. This empowers you to know which pages are changing over well so you can develop and scale that crusade.

Making an extraordinary following ID for an Amazon connection is simple. Basically log into your Amazon partner dashboard, click "Account Settings" at the exact beat on the right, then click "Manage Tracking Ids". From that point you can make another following ID so you can track which web page/campaign sold what.  You can study more about utilizing Amazon's Tracking Ids here.

Yes, making any requisition is cool, however knowing where and how you made that requisition is the thing that brings about a significant improvement advertiser. It gives you a chance to develop and scale your fights — rather than working indiscriminately.

5) Not Comparing

One of the best changing over strategies I use to offer partner items online (particularly physical items from Amazon) is to think about the "principle" item with two other comparative items.

The point when individuals are in purchasing mode for a physical item, they have a tendency to have their alternatives contracted down to 2 or 3 and require help making the decision that is best for them.

By analyzings the "3 Best Widgets For _______", I help my followers settle on a decision, as well as have my partner connections there for THREE items rather on one and only.

Over the long run, when I track that page, I can see which item is generally fascinating to book fans and move the best changing over item to the highest point of the page for better CTR.

Correlation pages are not just extremely prevalent and supportive for book lovers, they are additionally exceptionally productive for you.

6) Make Money Online Products

Maybe you've seen this in the recent past. You're in a "study internet showcasing" sort gathering. An individual distributes a post whining that they can't make a dime on the web. However in their signature line they have something along the lines of "I Made 50 Million Dollars with This" accompanied by their member connection.

It happens constantly. Kindly, don't be that individual.

Provided that you're new and you need to advertise items in the Make Money Online stadium, don't make false claims that it profited. Indeed, don't make false guarantees whatsoever!

Of course, discuss the profits of the product/training — perhaps even why it sounds marvelous to you — however don't attempt to trap individuals. You will demolish your believability.

7) "Oh Look! A Butterfly!"

This is the greatest destruction for any new member advertiser. Indeed, it can cause huge issues for prepared partner advertisers moreover.

It is all excessively normal to be finishing up one thing when the greater part of a sudden, something "sparkling" passes through your inbox or is specified in a gathering you visit. At that point off you go out pursuing some new thought to profit on the web.

Overlook the "butterflies" that are certain to fly by on a steady foundation. They will simply divert you from your project/campaign nearby. One finished and gainful crusade is worth such a great amount of more than 50 essentially half-completed fights or ventures.

Partner advertising is a business that requires self-inspiration and center. For a significant number of us, these are studied aptitudes. When you are cognizant of the oversights that can make an absence of benefits an

Affiliate Marketing Super Tricks

Affiliate Marketing such as CPA, CPS, CPL programs are only paid when a specific action is performed, however, affiliate programs can be really a good source of earning online. This action might be filling a form, a poll, a purchase or register, but regardless, you are not paid until you’ve lead your readers to act.

Here are Top 5 super tricks based on the concept above for affiliate marketing success.

1. Be Trustful and helpful
Think of affiliate ads as additional resources that complement your content. Give value to your content by making it trustful, helpful, useful and informative.
Readers are savvy. They know an affiliate link when they see one. If you break their trust by promoting a product you don’t believe in or take advantage of their visit with too many ads, they will leave and never come back.
It is your repeat visitors that will drive traffic. They are the ones who will give you linkbacks, spread the word, and recommend your site as the go-to place for valuable content. You need to build a relationship based on genuine content.
Don’t put up a list of your recommend products, hoping people will click on the affiliate linksand purchase the products. Take some time to write a detailed review, and use affiliate adsto point them in the right direction if they decide to act on your information. That’s whataffiliate ads are for.

2. Get to Know Your Audience and Customer
The most successful way to use affiliate programs
is to anticipate and meet the needs of your readers. Consider what are you providing that they are looking for and why they coming? Make sure the affiliate products you are promoting provide a solution to your audience’s problems. The more relevant the ads are to your readers, the more likely they will use them.
If you are writing about pets, don’t put up affiliate ads for computer just because the people who are coming to read commentary or get stats for their favorite pets aren’t thinking about those things when they’re on your site.

3. Be Transparent
Honesty and full disclosure is a necessary part to building a loyal reader base. Always disclose your affiliations. Your readers will appreciate your honesty, and will feel better about contributing to your earnings. If they sense that you are being less than honest about your affiliations, they are savvy enough to bypass your link and go directly to the vendor just to avoid giving you referral credit.

4. Try Different Programs and Select Carefully
If one particular program doesn’t seem to be working for you, try another one. Take the time to go through all the different options for products or services available through the programs. Put some thought into which products or services your readers may need or like. Also, change the ads around often, try different ones, and use different graphics and text to see which are the most effective.Affiliate programs don’t look the same. They offer different products, services, and payment structures. Some programs will have a lifetime payout on sales while others will limit it to 30-90 days. Some programs allow much more flexibility in the types of ad units available, as well as colors and design so it fits better on your site’s layout. Also, check your favorite vendors to see if they run their own affiliate program.

5. Write Timeless and Relevant Content
If visitors come across your older content first, and find that it offers dated information, they will leave right away. Of course, information moves forward, so relevant content changes quickly. You can make your content timeless simply by adding links to your updated articles on your old ones. Many platforms allow you to show “most recent” or “most popular” or “related articles” on every page, so no matter how old the article is, it will always show access to your new ones. Your old content can make money for you indefinitely.Keep up to date on the latest offerings of your affiliate programs. New ad units, advertisers, and tools are constantly being added to improve usability and be more visually appealing. Small changes go a long way in motivating action by readers. You may be left out in the dust by being complacent with your strategy.

10 Simple Tips To Get More Page Views Per Month ~ Must Read

IF you need a traffic on your website or blog then no need to use Paid Traffic Follow these simple steps and Get 2,50,000 Page view per Month.

1.Get some professional help at the start
We paid a small amount of money to get our blog designed by a professional at the start as well as getting somebody to add in the proper SEO plugins. Since then we haven’t really touched it design wise and have instead focused on the content. If you are serious about blogging or creating a business around your blog then you should invest a small amount of money at the start making it look professional.
2.Integrate Facebook wherever you can
Facebook is the most important social media tool we use in terms of bringing traffic to our site. It accounts for just over 18% of the traffic on our site and the 11,000 odd Facebook likes we have are people who come back to our site on a repeat basis to consume our content. Make it easy to share your content through Facebook and if the content is good enough it will spread like wildfire.
3.Forget about getting traffic from Twitter
Many people get obsessed with Twitter as a social media tool that drives traffic but let me save you lots of time and energy now because it simply does not. Less than 1% of our traffic comes from Twitter on a monthly basis despite some of our stories getting 100s of Retweets. You can certainly share the odd link through Twitter to gain some new readers but it is not the magic formula that you have been looking for.
4.The old blogging tricks still work best
Read many of the great posts on there or on any of the other great blogging advice sites and they’ll give you great advice like to make sure you add catchy titles (probably why you are reading this post in the first place), to write often and to guest post on other blogs. These are old pieces of advice but in a world where people are obsessed with social media and the new tools those are the tools that by far and away work the best. They are the easy wins.
5.Give everything away for free
As a business we sell advice on social media. We also do a very strange thing in that we give that advice away for free on the blog all the time. There is nothing in our heads that we keep for ourselves but instead focus on sharing as much of that knowledge as possible. By giving valuable advice away you make sure that people keep coming back to your blog for more advice and that’s how you build and audience. People are selfish, if they are coming to your blog they want something for free and that is what you will have to offer.
6.Be Social In The Real World
A huge amount of people who read our blog are people that we have met in the real world. Being social online is one thing but forging a social relationship with somebody in the real world is still far more powerful than anything. Try and attend conferences within your niche, meet people with similar interests and if relevant share your blog with them. If you are lucky enough to be able to speak at any events then work your blog in to the presentation and pitch yourself as the person of authority on your given subject.
7.Use rich media content if at all possible
Text is great and it’s an important part of blogging but not everybody is a good writer and even people who can write should try and support their content with rich media content if possible. I think it helps you stand out form the crowd. What do I mean by rich media content? Photos, videos, podcasts, diagrams, slidehows or presentations. The technology is there now for you to post most of these things for free and they’ll push your content out even further to new platforms.
8.RSS is still the dream subscriber
These days you’ll see plenty of ways to subscribe to blogs including email, Twitter and Facebook to name but a few but one stands head and shoulders above all the others for me and it’s the oldest one in the list…RSS. Getting an RSS subscriber is getting somebody who is totally committed to receiving your content every single day. I cherish RSS readers in a way that I would never think about Twitter followers or Facebook likes. The social subscribers are doing it as an impulse but an RSS reader is somebody who wants to get your content every single time you publish it instantly. You should take RSS subscribers over everything else in my opinion.
9.Build A passionate community around your blog
This is by far the hardest point on the whole list and there isn’t really any written rule on how to achieve it. The one thing I think you have to do most is be nice to everybody and reply to as many comments as you physically can. Comments on your blog, comments on Twitter, comments on Facebook or Youtube or wherever the person has left a comment. People fly through the web these days pausing for a second at a time on sites these days so if they are taking time to leave a comment oon your blog then the very least you can do is stop and answer them. Building community take a lot of time but you should never underestimate the power of word of mouth when it comes to your blog or business and a passionate community is just about the most powerful thing around today.
10.Never give people the hard sell through social media
Once you build a community or a large audience for your site the temptation is always there to try and sell to them or to push your products. We never ever write blog posts asking people to use our services. Make no mistake that they can find our services within one click if they are looking for them but we’ll never push them because people can smell the hard sell a mile away and they’ll never go for it and you’ll end up pushing them away instead. The idea with social media is to engage people and have a meaningful conversation with them. That is what works best in the long run.

6 Tips to Guard Against Social Media & PR Crises

Every once in a while, your brand reputation will come under a major attack. It might happen once every few months, or it might happen only once every few years. Whatever the case is, you need to have a fast, immediate response.
If you respond to the assault quickly, you’ll be able to walk away with your brand, business and reputation in tact. On the other hand, fail to respond and you’ll quickly find your customers fleeing to your competitors.
Here are six steps to protecting your brand and your reputation.

Step 1: Acknowledge the Crisis Immediately
The worst thing you could do is try to pretend as if nothing is happening.
On the social web, companies that take responsibility for their mistakes and quickly respond to social media firestorms can put out the fires quickly with a good response. However, fail to respond and the firestorm will spread and spread and spread.
Step 2: Don’t Say Anything Until You Have Something to Say
Until you have a meaningful response, don’t say anything. If you go into the public spotlight and say something that’s essentially an empty apology, you could exacerbate the problem.
BP’s CEO did this spectacularly after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill through statements like “nobody wants this over more than me, I’d like my life back.”
Until you have a solid response, hold off on going public.
Step 3: Learn to Make U-Turns
Know when you’re wrong and when you have to make U-Turns. If you think one thing but your customers adamantly shout something else, listen to your customers.
Apple made a great U-Turn with the iPhone 4 launch. When people started complaining about the iPhone 4 antennae issue, Steve Jobs wasn’t worried. He simply said “just don’t hold it that way.”
Then the issue grew and grew and grew until it was on every tech blog and on the front page of several national newspapers. That’s when Apple realized: They were wrong.
So they made a U-Turn. They issued free bumpers to everyone who bought an iPhone 4. An expensive reversal, but it may very well have saved the brand and the product launch.
Step 4: Improve Customer to Brand Communication
How easy is it for a customer to get in touch with you? If you have a major PR crisis on your hand, it needs to be as easy as possible for someone to get in touch.
Setup a hotline. Create a special Twitter hashtag. Create a helpdesk support ticket system just for this one issue.
Make it easy for customers with concerns about the issue at hand to get in touch with a real human being. That might sound costly, but when weighed against losing a customer for life, the cost is marginal.
Step 5: Learn and Setup Alert Systems
If you were blindsided by this issue, take a look at your alert systems. You should have systems setup that allow you to catch these kinds of issues before they balloon into crises.
For example, you should have systems in place that scan Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites to see what people are saying about your brand. You should have Google Alerts (or a similar system) setup to monitor news and blog feeds to see if people are talking about you.
This allows you to catch potentially damaging stories early in the cycle, rather than play catchup later down the line. Learn from your mistakes and setup new systems to catch PR issues from the start.
Step 6: Increase Visibility, Change the Topic, Build Your Brand
The best way to get someone over talking about a negative topic is to move on to a positive one. If your company made a mistake, apologize, make amends, then move on. Don’t keep apologizing and don’t keep focusing on the mistake. That’ll only remind people of the past.
Instead, increase your visibility and move on to a different topic. Announce a new company initiative, or let the public know about a new product that’s in the works. Let the old talk die down and give your audience something new to talk about. Speak, create videos, publish content and get the word out about the new thing. The old thing will die on its own.
This six step process will help you handle just about any brand, reputation or PR crisis that comes your way.

5 Tips to Increase Your Amazon Affiliate Earnings

Trying to fight your way to success with Amazon Affiliate links, and beginning to wonder if anyone really makes any money with it? You’re not alone, but the fact is, Amazon is THE leading online retailer in the US, and a very good resource for an affiliate merchant. The key is knowing how to be an affiliate seller. There’s a lot more to it than just planting a few links and hoping they get clicked. That type of “working” a blog, or any affiliate type of sales page is the reason 90% of all affiliate marketers—or even just Internet marketers in general—fail, or struggle along with pennies per month instead of big fat checks in their mailbox.
Why Amazon over any other affiliate site? Amazon gives you two things that no one else does: thousands of products in every category a shopper could possibly want to look for, and THE biggest incentive of all—when a visitor clicks through to Amazon from any link on your site, it doesn’t matter what they purchase, so long as they purchase something, you get credit for it.
Want more? You got it. Amazon is the king of conversion. Just send your readers off to Amazon and Amazon will do the rest. You don’t even have to convince your readers to buy the product you are blogging about. You only need to suggest they visit Amazon to “read more reviews and make an informed decision”, and that’s it. Really. I know that because out of the few hundred of sales my diet blog generates every month on Amazon, only 33% relate to the products I feature on my site. The other 67% has nothing to do with the products I blog about. People come to my blog to read a review of a weight loss pill and they end up buying a movie or a bicycle tire!
The Amazon folks have a huge marketing experience and they know how to sell. I’d like you to find a better, more possible way to make money online as an affiliate—and let me know about it.
Still, with all that, the majority of Amazon affiliates garner little to nothing for their efforts. Here are my top 5 ways to increase your Amazon Affiliate earnings.
1. Overnight Success? No
First off, you have to realize that no one starts off raking in big bucks. You have to learn the ropes, gain attention and traffic, and develop a skill for planting keywords and corresponding links in your posts so that they attract reader’s attention without pissing them off, and making them feel they’re being “sold.”
2. Starting From the Beginning
Just because you aren’t likely to become an overnight success as an affiliate mogul, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start right at the beginning. Don’t wait to sign up as an affiliate, and don’t wait to start placing links. A few dollars a month is better than no dollars a month, and they do add up. Starting off at the beginning is a great way to track your increase in clickthroughs and study patterns to see what methods are working best for you, also.
When I first started my diet blog, I tracked the patterns for my main links of “Medifast coupons” and “Nutrisystem discounts” to see how well each one was performing. When they increased, I paid attention to what and where they improved from, and made a habit of repeating that method.
3. Content Content Content
In real estate it’s: location, location, location. For any online marketing, whether you are putting up landing pages, websites, blogs, or even if you are writing on relevant forums, the key to attracting interest from readers is content. Don’t skimp, don’t cheat, and give them something that is worth their time and effort. Blend your link text into the content so that it doesn’t jump out and scream, “hey, the whole reason for this post is for you to see this.”
4. Make Use of All Available Marketing Possibilities
Where are you marketing your chosen products? Do you stick to just your blog? Don’t discount your email. Add the best links to your email signature line. You never know who will see it. But even better than your personal email, create a mailing list and generate a newsletter for those that sign up from your blog. That way you get to repeatedly “reach out and touch them” with their permission, while giving them little tidbits of wisdom in each one… of course, on a subject related to your products, and linked to them on Amazon.
Forums are another great way to find interested readers in your sales niche. Selling marine GPS navigation systems? Join a boating board. Add your link to your signature line in an appealing and not too intrusive manner, and make relevant, and interesting posts so people like what you have to say, and learn to trust what you stand for.
The whole “like what you have to say, and learn to trust what you stand for” is the purpose behind the importance of content, and the key to steady sales and loyal readers.
5. Target Your Products
You’ll notice I mention “related products” in several areas. Don’t just pick high-priced items willy nilly. Pick products based on a target market, and work your blog, newsletters, or forum memberships around those. I am not going to market my weight loss product on a pet forum, but I might use a pet forum if my products of choice have something to do with dogs or other pet animals.
Target seasons and holidays as well. Even in a niche blog, forum or newsletter, you can find ways to incorporate special holiday items into your work to entice those extra, and usually receptive clicks.

Five Killer Resources to Secure a Great Domain Name

In the world of web sites and online marketing, your domain name is everything. Having a domain name that describes your business in one or two words is an excellent way to build and brand your business for the future.
Unfortunately the majority of quality and generic domain names in the world are already taken. With that in mind, it’s important to know where to look and how to get your hands on domain names that may be up for expiration or even for sale.
We will even talk about how you can contact someone who might already own your domain name and potentially work out a sale of your own. These are some of the same practices I’ve used to acquire some amazing domain names like the one at my latest blog: PPC.org.

Five Resources for Getting a Great Domain Name

1.) Use Domain Name Expiration Services

There are plenty of services and web sites out that there just monitor domain names and make it a business of buying and selling these domain names to new customers. Do you have a domain name in mind that someone already owns, try services like NameJet.com and Pool.com to build a waiting list that will notify you if the domains ever become available.

2.) Online Auctions and Domain Marketplaces

Just like there are sites for domain name expiration, there are also plenty of web sites that deal with web site and domain sales. You can always visitEbay.com to see what domains they have available, but since they are not a focused business on just domains and web sites, it’s usually rare to find any quality listings. Flippa.com is one of the largest site and domain auction sites on the internet. Make sure they are on your list of places to look to buy existing domains and web sites.

3.) High End Domain Resellers

The high end domain market will always be an interesting one. While some people find it hard to imagine paying $100 for a single domain name, some domain names are sold for millions of dollars. For high end domain name purchases and sales, be sure to visit sites like Sedo.com andGreatDomains.com. These sites will help you find high end domain names that are for sale, or can also be used to sell your own domain names.

4.) Webmaster and Domain Forums

No matter what type of webmaster or marketing forum you are on, there is probably some discussion about buying web sites and domains. Don’t be afraid to make a posting of your own about a domain that you may be looking to buy. Someone on the forum probably has a domain name that you are looking for, or at least knows a few good resources. WarriorForum.comDNForum.comand NamePros.com are all great places to network and communicate with other domainers and webmasters.

5.) Contacting the Domain Owner Directly

When all else fails and you can’t seem to find a great domain, your last resort may be trying to contact the actual domain owners that you are looking to own. If there is already a web site or business running at the domain name you are looking for, it’s a lot less likely that you will be able to buy the domain name. There are also services out there that will do the contact and buying process for you. You can find domain ownership through Whois searches or using domain buying services offered by GoDaddy and other domain registries.

Make Money On YouTube with Affiliate Marketing

A couple of weeks ago I published a post explaining the basic process you need to go through if you want to become a YouTube partner, which allows you to display ads and monetize your uploaded videos. My buddyJohn Chow followed that post up with an explanation of his approach to YouTube monetization, which is quite different.
In his post titled How to Make Money on YouTube John explains that in addition to the money he makes from the ad impressions on the video he also earns by placing affiliate links in the description of the videos. In fact he mentions that the affiliate links earn much more than the video ads.
Brilliant huh?
Obviously in order to make this work you need to plan a bit. For instance, John usually links to products he is talking in the video itself, so viewers will be more likely to become interested, click on the link and make the purchase. If you check his post you’ll be able to see screenshots from his videos, which pretty much shows how it’s done.
Once your affiliate links are set you’ll need to work on getting people to watch your videos. The first step here is to get a bunch of videos uploaded and to become a YouTube partner, as this increases your chances of getting your videos ranked high. Not sure what kind of videos you should create? Check out this post with 10 video blog ideas.
Second, don’t forget that SEO works with YouTube videos as well. For instance, you could link to your video page from your blog, from guest posts, from blog comments and so on. This should boost your rankings both inside YouTube’s search and Google’s one.
Third, don’t forget to leverage social media (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest) to give an extra push to your videos. This part will work well if you have some viral element on your videos (e.g., rants, humor, how to stuff).

A Platform to Test Your Affiliate Marketing Offers

I am always looking for new websites to use as marketing platforms for my projects and products, and an interesting one I found recently is called UKritic.com.
Think about it as a Squidoo for product reviews. Basically users sign-up and write reviews about the product they have used or bought. Unlike other websites with user-generated content, however, UKritic will give you a piece of the action if people reading your reviews end up purchasing the product.
In other words, they are totally fine to have affiliate marketers aboard.
If you are just getting started with affiliate marketing this might actually be a good place to test things out. That is, you could pick a range of products and niches you want to promote and test things out on their platform.
After that you check what types of reviews and products convert better, and then you decide if you want to spend time and money building a whole website around those or not.
Right after you sign-up you’ll be able to start writing your reviews. Before your profile becomes public, though, you need to have at least one review approved by the moderators, which is a positive thing in my opinion, as it helps to keep the level of spam down.
If you visit the site you’ll notice that every review has three big orange buttons pointing to the seller’s website: one on top, on on the sidebar and one at the bottom. Guess what, you can provide your affiliate links when writing the review and those buttons will carry it for you, so you get commissions for buyers going through your Ukritic review. You can also embed affiliate links in the body of the review if you prefer.
Overall I think it’s a nice idea, and I believe the approach to support rather than prohibit affiliate marketing will definitely help this platform to become popular.

Easy Five Step Plan for Editing Your Blog Posts

Have you ever published a post with an embarrassing typo?
Have you written what youthought was a great piece … only to re-read it three months later and realize that it had no real point?
Some bloggers think that editing doesn’t really matter. After all, you’re giving your hard work away for free: readers can hardly complain if there are a few sub-par posts, or some full of typos.
This is a short-sighted attitude. Sure, one typo isn’t going to kill your chances of success … but poor-quality writing makes you look sloppy or even stupid. Even those readers who do stick around won’t feel so confident about buying your e-book, joining your membership site, or even listening to your affiliate recommendations.
If you’re working on pillar content, or a guest post, it’s doubly important to edit carefully: that content needs to be your very best.
The good news is that editing doesn’t need to take hours of your time. You can just follow these five simple steps to make sure that your post is working from start to end.

Step #1: Check Whether You Have One Clear Point

One of the biggest mistakes I see is bloggers choosing a topic then writing everything they can think of, without any real point. If you sit down and write whatever comes into your head, your post isn’t likely to have any clear organization or structure.
Another problem is a post that has several different points – if that’s happened with your post, you might want to try making it into a series.
Do it: Ask yourself “What one thing should the reader understand (or be able to do) as a result of reading this post?”

Step #2: Make Your Title and Introduction Gripping

If your title and introduction don’t hook the reader, the rest of your post is going to be wasted.
Most titles can be improved with a few little tweaks. You could:
  • Add a number.
  • Use the words “how to” at the start.
  • Include adjectives like “easy” or “powerful” or “little-known”.
Keep your introduction short and clear. Try starting with a question (like I do in this post) or with a quote that ties into your main point. Focus on the reader instead of on yourself: use the word “you” more often than you use “I”.
Do it: Spend at least five minutes on your title during editing. If your introduction seems a bit long, try cutting the first paragraph and see whether the second paragraph makes a better beginning.

Step #3: Include a Call to Action

Every time you write a blog post, you need to think about your aims. Is this post one which you want readers to share? Are you hoping to get more comments and build reader engagement? Do you have a product or service to promote?
Too many bloggers end their posts without giving the reader anything to do next. It might seem a bit silly to you to say “Leave a comment…” or “Click the button to retweet…” but your readers might not notice the comment box or retweet button otherwise.
Do it: Write a call to action at the end of your post. It could be as simple as “If you enjoyed this post, click here to read more…” with a link to a related post on your blog.

Step #4: Edit for the Little Details

Once you’ve got your post into good shape – with a clear point, a good introduction, and a call to action at the end – it’s time to start editing for all the little details.
Look out for:
  • Typos and misspellings – don’t rely on your spellchecker to spot them all.
  • Missing words – or words where they shouldn’t be (these sometimes creep in during editing).
  • Overlong sentences and paragraphs – break these up.
If you struggle to spot your mistakes, try reading your post out loud. You could also print it and read it on paper. This way, you’re more likely to see things that you’d miss on the screen.
Do it: Are there any words that you often confuse, like “you’re” and “your”? Do you know when you should and shouldn’t use apostrophes? When you’re editing, use Daily Writing Tips to double-check anything you’re not sure about.

Step #5: Add Formatting

Your final editing task is to add formatting. You may have included some while you were writing the post, but this is a good opportunity to make sure that your formatting is consistent and useful.
You should:
  • Use subheadings – be consistent in how you format these (e.g. always use heading 2 style, always capitalize the words).
  • Include bold text to highlight key phrases or sentences – but don’t overdo it.
  • Use bullet-points where appropriate, rather than listing lots of items in single sentence.
  • Avoid using underlining for emphasis, as readers may be confused and think that this is a clickable link.
  • Ideally, add at least one image (at the start of your post, to draw the reader’s eye). You might want to use individual images for each subsection.
Do it: While editing, sit back from your screen and glance at your post. It should look visually interesting and attractive. If it doesn’t, add a bit more formatting.
A bit more attention to editing from all of us would make the blogosphere an even greater place … so retweet this post, or share it on Facebook or G+, and let other bloggers learn these simple editing steps too!

Tips to Boost Your YouTube Marketing Strategy

1. Have a meaningful channel name with target keywords. Use capitalization in the channel name so that it is clear. If you are starting a YouTube channel about cats, CuteCatsDaily is a better channel name than catschannel1987
2. Enter a title for the channel. By default your channel name is also the title of the channel but you can edit it in channel settings. Have your keywords in this channel for search optimization. Note that this channel title is in H1 tag – good for SEO.
3. Enter a link to your website in your channel. YouTube allows adding more than one link in your channel’s sidebar.
4. When uploading videos, enter the tags carefully. Enter low competition keywords. These keywords can be found out from AdWords Keyword tool. You can also enter tags from competing videos so that your videos will appear as related videos when those videos are watched.
5. If you are creating infomovies (videos with slides and voiceover) using PowerPoint or Keynote, make sure that you have a custom unique background for your slides. This custom background can contain your website’s URL on the top right corner or bottom right corner. With this technique you can gain visitors even if your video is embedded on other sites in which case your description and the link in it will not appear.
6. If you are making screencast videos, try to record the screen at 640×360 (16:9) so that the videos do not appear fuzzy. If you can’t do it in 360p, you can make it at 480p (854×480). Do not upload screencast videos in 720p unless you have no other option.
7. Use annotations in your video. Have a specific call to action in the annotation. You can link to subscribe page, channel page, another YouTube video or just ask the visitor to visit your URL for more information. Note that you can use only YouTube internal links in annotations, external linking is not allowed.
8. Make use of YouTube trends. You can create videos for your niche related to the trending videos and get a good number of eyeballs on your videos. (YouTube’s official blog) to see the latest trending videos.
9. Upload high quality videos consistently to keep your users engaged and YouTube happy.
10. Do not be too aggressive with marketing on YouTube. If you upload a sales video and wonder why it hasn’t gone viral, it is time to understand that YouTube is a content website. Deliver good content and then ask people to visit your website.
11. Try to get your face on the camera as much as possible. You can create talking head videos in a batch. Allot 1 or 2 days in a month for video creation and create 5-10 videos in 1 go. You may want to shoot those videos in different costume each time.
12. Do not upload 10 minute long videos. Attention span of users in YouTube is very low. In my experience 1-2 minute videos work best for YouTube. Deliver a short but powerful message. If you have something significant to say, break up the video into 2-5 parts and upload them with unique Keyword rich titles. This way you will get more viewers to your video and viewers can skip parts of your video if not interested. Make sure to link these parts of the video using annotations. However please keep in mind that this is recommended but not a rule. There are exceptions. I have 10-15 minute video going well on YouTube and a lot of others have too.
13. Controversial videos attract a lot of attention on YouTube. However make sure to provide some quality content after you attract the viewers using you controversial title.
14. Spend some time everyday on leaving useful comments in related videos. If your comments are liked, it will be on top and a lot of visitors will click on your username and land on your channel.
15. Every video you upload is eligible to be a video response to some video. Find some related videos in your niche and if appropriate, post a video response using one of your videos.
16. Have a separate Google account for your YouTube channel so that even if your account gets banned, your other services are not affected.

What To Look For In An Affiliate Program

Affiliate programs have become one of the fastest methods of building traffic and earning money online. These programs offer a mutually beneficial opportunity for both businesses and website owners to promote a product, make a sale and earn an income. However, not every affiliate program is created equal. Some are simply better than others. Before signing up for anything, learn what to look for in an affiliate program to maximize your profits.

A Good Match

A good affiliate program should be related to the site’s content. Otherwise, visitors to that site will not find any relevance to the ads or links displayed and will not be interested to click on them or participate. Look for programs that promote products and services that will not only sell but also look and feel right at home in your website. For example, a blog about computers and technology will fare best when promoting products such as software, gadgets and electronic accessories. It will not do as well selling products related to another niche, such as personal care or travel.

Established Online Presence
An established program is likely to be a reliable program. If it has had significant positive impact on the Web, there is enough assurance that it can work. Trusted programs are likely to have strong support from their affiliates. You are better off signing up for programs like these due to their track record. Since they can be trusted, you are also more likely to get paid for your efforts.

Quality Products and/or Services

A good affiliate program should offer products and/or services that people actually want to buy or subscribe to. Low quality products are not only difficult to sell, they can also affect your online reputation in a negative way. If you want to build a loyal following, represent only companies and businesses that provide high-value products that you yourself would not hesitate to promote.

Good Commission

You joined affiliate programs because you wanted to make money right? A good commission rate translates to excellent rewards for affiliate partners. Simply put, every click or pre-agreed action on the part of your website visitors means more income for you. So what exactly is a good commission rate? Although there is no set figure for everyone, affiliate partners who want to maximize their earnings should consider programs that offer at least 20% of the price of the product or at least 30% for each direct sale. Many of the established programs have commission rates at this range, although there are those that offer higher rates at 50% or even more. The only drawback is that these programs tend to be rare and difficult to get into. However, if and when an opportunity presents itself, it is a good idea to sign up right away.

Avoiding Scams

Scams promise everything and the world. The more flamboyant ones are often easy to spot, making outlandish claims and statements in the hope of attracting more affiliate partners to do business for them. Beware of ads that promise too much, too soon. If an affiliate program company offers a get-rich-quick plan or even promises large amounts of income within a short period of time, be wary. Keep in mind that it takes work and plenty of connections to get things done in an affiliate program. As in most businesses, there is a process involved and shortcuts simply do not work.
